Some of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars have turned down very iconic roles in acclaimed movies!

Stars have to make a tough choice every time they’re offered a role. They need to field a list of potential projects and decide which one seems the most promising. While juggling them around, they might end up missing out on a chance to star in a project that becomes a serious blockbuster.

We previously rounded up 12 actors who nearly passed on what would become their most iconic roles. However, there are even more actors who did say “no thanks” to appearing in solid-gold hits.

For instance, someone turned down a role and wound up losing a $250 million payday! A pop icon had some regrets about passing on a chance to play Catwoman. One actress was even offered a chance to play Neo, a male role, in The Matrix!

So many stars, including several Oscar winners, also turned down a chance to star in Brokeback Mountain, the iconic queer movie that was met with critical acclaim.

You’ll be surprised to see who was offered a chance to star in movies such as Legally Blonde and Forrest Gump and who passed on roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio reunited last night, nearly 3 decades after the release of Titanic!

The 50-year-old actor introduced the 49-year-old actress at a special screening of her film Lee on Tuesday evening (November 19) in Los Angeles. Her co-star Andrea Riseborough was also in attendance.

“Kate, my dear friend. Your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative,” Leo said in his speech introducing Kate. “I continue to be awestruck. I continue to admire your strength, your integrity, your talent, and your passion to every single project that you create. Without further ado, one of the great talents of my generation: the one and only Kate Winslet.”

Kate and Leo obviously co-starred in 1997′s Titanic, and they reunited for 2008’s Revolutionary Road. She recently told a story about what happened on the set of the 2008 film.

Leonardo DiCaprio celebrated his 50th birthday in true A-list style with a star-studded bash on Saturday (November 9) in Los Angeles! The private soirée was held at the luxurious home of Walmart heiress Sybil Robson Orr and her husband, Matthew Orr, where Leo’s pals gathered to toast the actor in a party that lasted until 4 a.m.

The celebration kicked off with a Nobu-catered dinner and Champagne Telmont drinks – perfect for a milestone birthday toast! Only Leo’s closest friends and family were at the dinner, including his parents and step-parents. The exclusive meal took place in one of the two houses on the property, and as the night rolled on, the party migrated to a second house, where even more stars showed up to join the festivities.

The guest list was a who’s who of Hollywood royalty! A-list icons like Brad Pitt (who came with girlfriend Ines de Ramon), Robert De Niro, and Steven Spielberg were spotted arriving early to celebrate with their long-time friend and collaborator.

Other notable attendees included Cara Delevingne, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Paris Hilton, and, of course, Leo’s girlfriend, model Vittoria Ceretti, who was by his side as he rang in his big 5-0. Leo’s best friend, Tobey Maguire, and long-time pals Lukas Haas and Kevin Connolly were also among those who kept the celebration going into the early hours.

The after-party crowd included Benicio del Toro, Chuck Liddell, and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer.

Brad Pitt and his girlfriend Ines de Ramon are still going strong!

The 60-year-old Oscar winner and 31-year-old jewelry designer were seen exiting Leonardo DiCaprio‘s 50th birthday party on Saturday night (November 9) in Los Angeles.

Tons of A-list celebrities were in attendance at the bash, and many stars were seen entering and exiting the celebration. You can see all the photos right here. Leonardo‘s actually birthday is today – happy birthday!!

Brad and Leo co-starred in the 2019 hit Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood together. Brad won an Oscar for his work in the Quentin Tarantino movie!

Leonardo DiCaprio is celebrating a massive milestone.

The Titanic icon rang in his 50th birthday over the weekend with a star-studded celebration on Saturday night (November 10) in Los Angeles.

Tons of A-list celebrities were in attendance at the bash, and many stars were seen entering and exiting the celebration. Leo is known for having big birthday parties, and this year is certainly no exception for his 50th!

Leonardo DiCaprio is spending the day with some friends.

The 49-year-old Oscar-winning actor stopped by the Bird Streets Club for lunch a with a few friends on Monday afternoon (November 4) in Los Angeles.

For his outing, Leo sported a black zip-up hoodie over a white T-shirt paired with tan pants and gray sneakers while trying to keep a low profile under a black baseball hat and sunglasses.

Leo‘s outing comes after he very publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President in the 2024 Election and slammed Donald Trump for ignoring climate change.

We recently ranked Leo‘s top 10 best movies based on their Rotten Tomatoes scores – and Titanic didn’t make the list.

Leonardo DiCaprio is showing his support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

In a video posted to Instagram on Friday (October 25), the 49-year-old Oscar-winning actor endorsed Harris, 60, for President and also slammed Donald Trump while discussing the damage caused by recent Hurricanes Helene and Milton, saying, “these unnatural disasters were caused by climate change.”
